South Carolina Federal Credit Union hosted its inaugural Global Leadership Exchange program March 1 through March 15 in Charleston, S.C. The event facilitated a dialogue around organizational leadership and talent retention and promoted cultural diversity and inclusion.
Troy Hall, Ph.D., Chief Strategy Officer for South Carolina Federal, established the cultural leadership event in partnership with Konstantin Comeros, Area Director for credit union development at VICTO National in the Philippines.
During this year's program, Dr. Troy and Comeros hosted a series of meetings and events to explore how leaders can apply practical management principles to create a successful and sustainable culture that retains top talent and drives team performance.
Highlights from the event include:
Rep. Joe Daning (District 92) and Rep. Nancy Mace (District 99) presented a formal resolution to Dr. Troy and Comeros at the State House in Columbia, acknowledging their work in launching the Global Leadership Exchange.
Dr. Troy and Comeros attended The Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C. where they connected with other credit union leaders and discussed some of the challenges and opportunities that credit unions currently face.

Dr. Troy and Comeros sat down for an episode of the Christian Business Values radio show on 94.3 WSC for a discussion on Global Leadership and how faith is integrated into the daily Filipino culture. Comeros also shared his personal struggles growing up in the Philippines and a pivotal experience at Mt. Everest base camp that made a positive impact on his faith.
“Konstantin and I wanted to create a program where we could share our insights on cultural diversity and inclusion, practical leadership and talent retention with the business leaders of Charleston”, said Dr. Troy. “This year's event was a tremendous success and we are already looking at programming for next year's event."
