Janet E. Rhodes, an attorney with Burnette Shutt & McDaniel, has joined the board of Trustus Theatre.

An award-winning professional non-profit theater, Trustus produces original and adapted works of local and national artists. The organization was founded in 1985 in an old warehouse and has grown steadily to a half-million-dollar enterprise with two performing venues. In addition to its original productions, Trustus also offers an apprentice company for high school students as well as classes.

Rhodes has long been involved in the arts. She performed in several vocal groups while attending Wofford College, and she also was a member of the Sandlapper Singers in Columbia for several years. She served on the planning committee for the Midlands Arts Conservatory as the charter school for the arts was being developed.

A partner at Burnette Shutt & McDaniel, Rhodes focuses her practice on employment law, representing clients in federal and state court. This includes equal pay, wage disputes, wrongful termination and a range of other issues.
