At Medical University of South Carolina, 54 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 84 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Charleston enrolled 2,985 students in fall 2017, including 303 in undergraduate and 2,682 in graduate programs, data shows. 47.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (71 percent) and Black or African American (9 percent).
