The Mental Illness Recovery Center, Inc. and Leadership Columbia Class of 2018 are hosting a Ribbon Cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of a new home for male youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness located at 1813 Washington Street at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
MIRCI will officially open the doors to the 10-bedroom, 3,000 square foot residential home. The ceremony will include guided house tours, guest speakers, live music and refreshments. Guests are asked to RSVP by September 21 at, Search “MIRCI Youth Home Ribbon Cutting”. To help stock the pantry in the new home, guests are asked to bring non-perishable goods.
MIRCI is thrilled to have the support of Leadership Columbia’s 2018 Class, who raised more than $48,000 to furnish and equip the new home.  This new supportive housing program will serve males, age 17-24, in transition from homelessness to independent living. The home will fill a gap in available housing for male youth in transition in Columbia, SC and will benefit the community by creating a space to engage youth seeking shelter and services from qualified health professionals.
