Clemson Alumni Association Selects Five New Board Members

The Clemson Alumni Association has selected five new members to serve on its board of directors for three-year terms that began July 1.

The new board members are:

  • Roy Abercrombie of Greenville, a 1969 graduate of Clemson with a Bachelor of Science in industrial management. He is a director and shareholder of Colliers International of South Carolina. He previously was CEO and chairman of American Federal Bank and, when it merged with Central Carolina Bank, he was CCB’s executive vice president and vice chairman until his retirement. Read more…

  • Sonya Spratley Balogun of Powder Springs, Georgia, who graduated from Clemson in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering with a focus on quality engineering and human factors. She is global sourcing operations and business process transformation leader for GE Power. Read more…

  • Lily M. Eyraud of Charlotte, who earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Clemson in 2012 and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 2017. She is an operations consultant at Bank of America. Read more…

  • Larry Sloan of Seneca, a 1974 graduate of Clemson with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He is retired president and CEO of Electrical Power Products Inc. Read more…

  • Miles Channing Thomas of New Orleans, who graduated from Clemson in 2000 with a degree in speech and communication. A Greer native, he earned a law degree from the University of Tennessee in 2004. He is a shareholder in the law firm Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard. Read more…

The alumni board has 24 members and is the governing body for the Clemson Alumni Association. Primary responsibilities of the board include general oversight of the programs and initiatives of the association, financial audit and review, the establishment of governing policies and strategic planning.
