Thursday, August 3rd, 2017

Legal Elite of the Midlands is honoring Callison Tighe partner Rick Detwiler in its 2017 edition.

The yearly publication of Columbia Business Monthly lists Detwiler among the region’s Top 10 lawyers in Business Litigation.

Detwiler is a trial lawyer who represents clients in a broad range of business issues, including partnership and other contract disputes, work-outs and minority shareholder oppression cases. He has also successfully handled complaints of OSHA violations on behalf of contractors, construction defect cases and workers’ compensation claims for both employers and injured workers.

His broad-ranging legal practice also includes medical malpractice and personal injury cases as well as securities fraud and probate litigation. He is also certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Circuit Court Mediator.

A native of Columbia, Detwiler is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Detwiler’s award continues Callison Tighe’s long history of recognition in Legal Elite of the Midlands by peers in the legal community. The firm’s attorneys have been honored in every edition since the first 2010.

Each year Legal Elite of the Midlands receives more than 300 nominations. Up to 10 lawyers are selected in each of 20 practice areas based on a vote of active attorneys in the Midlands.

The 2017 Legal Elite of the Midlands class is highlighted in Columbia Business Monthly’s August issue. They also will be recognized at a reception.
