100% Pass Rate for MTC Career Programs
Wednesday, January 11th, 2017
Nearly 150 Midlands Technical College students in the Nursing and Health Sciences career programs contributed to a 100% pass rate, a testament to the academic excellence and outstanding faculty in these areas. Students in nine programs took a total of 12 exams and earned the perfect rate.
“The high pass rate by MTC Nursing and Health Science students speaks to the quality of the programs and their graduates,” said Dr. Martha Hanks, MTC Associate Vice President for Career Programs. “Most of our graduates go on to find great jobs right here in Columbia and are recognized as providers of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.”
Completing their degree, diploma, or certificate is just the first requirement for MTC students training for occupations in healthcare. To ensure public protection, students must also pass an exam in order to apply for licensure.
“Midlands Technical College is proud of the academic excellence displayed by the students and faculty in these programs. Our courses are rigourous, and the students who graduate from them are highly recruited by employers in the healthcare field,” said MTC President Dr. Ronald L. Rhames.
Passing a certification exam is required for licensure or registry-recognition in nearly all healthcare professions. The following MTC programs had a 100% pass rate for their professional certification exams:
