Wanted: 100 Companies to Support Building Tomorrow’s Workforce in South Carolina
Thursday, June 11th, 2020
The Be Pro Be Proud SC mobile workshop will begin its inaugural state-wide tour in August, carrying the logos of companies that support the dynamic workforce development project. Efforts are underway to recruit the “Be Pro 100”: 100 companies in SC pledging $15,000 or more in support of this one-of-a-kind project. Be Pro Be Proud SC brings awareness for skilled professions to middle and high school students via high-tech and virtual reality simulators.
The mobile workshop will pair with a website that will list training centers, scholarship opportunities, and job openings throughout the Palmetto State.
All companies are invited to contribute. Companies who rely on skilled-trade employees – such as welders, CDL drivers, manufacturers, lineman, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, forklift operators, carpenters, machinists and heavy equipment operators – are highly encouraged to participate.
Companies that pledge $15,000 or more by July 1st will have their logo displayed on the outside of the mobile workshop for 5 years. Additional levels of recognition are based on contribution amount.
Sponsors will also be invited to attend the inaugural launch event, hosted by Governor Henry McMaster in early August.
All contributions are 100% tax deductible.
