MTC Provost Barrie Kirk Discusses Coronavirus Response

Midlands Technical College Provost Barrie Kirk appeared live on WIS Today on Tuesday morning April 21, 2020. Kirk spoke with Judi Gatson, Madeline Cuddihy and Kamie Roesler about how MTC is dealing with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Topics included how students and faculty are utilizing technology to manage alternative instruction, transferrable skills within the workforce, and how MTC provides education opportunities for individuals interested in essential jobs. Those essential jobs include positions in health care, information technology as well as advanced manufacturing and skilled trades such as nurse, respiratory therapist, heating and air conditioning technician, and automotive technician.

During the interview, Kirk also announced that MTC will continue to wave its application fee through May 15th. When completing an online application, applications just need to enter Apply2020 and MTC will waive the typical $35 fee.
