SC Chamber Survey Shows Confidence in The Economy Remains Strong among SC Business Leaders

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce announced the results of its “Spring 2019 Business Confidence Survey.” The survey polled 246 of the state’s top business leaders covering all sectors. Over 93% have a positive outlook on the economy. Similarly, nearly half of businesses surveyed expect to add jobs and 67% expect to increase their company’s volume of sales over the next twelve months.
“The results match what we are hearing from across the state – businesses in South Carolina remain positive on the outlook of the economy,” said SC Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Ted Pitts. “Business leaders are cautious but optimistic about the prospects for them over the next 12 months.”
“I am not surprised by these results,” said Lou Kennedy, SC Chamber of Commerce Chair, and President and CEO of Nephron Pharmaceuticals. “South Carolina is a great place for business because of our hard-working people. Our employees continue to make us successful.”
